Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Launch Artist-Led Production Studio

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have partnered with Gerry Cardinales RedBird CApital Partners to launch a new production company.
The new artist-led studio, Artists Equity, will create “entrepreneurial partnerships with filmmakers to empower their creative vision,” according to a statement.
Affleck and Damon, who together have more than $10.7 billion in worldwide box office sales, 110+ feature films as star or costar, six produced screenplays, will lead the company.
The studios first project, set for release in 2023, will be the story behind the creation of the Air Jordan, with Damon starring and Affleck directing.
“Artists Equity was conceived from Matts and my longtime passion for the art of storytelling and our shared desire to help creators deliver on their vision,” Affleck said.
“Ben and I know that the power will continue to be in the hands of the creators, no matter which direction the industry evolves,” said Damon.
