Amsterdam set to make a $80M loss

Despite a wide distribution by Latest Regency and Disney in more than 3,000 theaters, David O. Russell’s new film Amsterdam which stars a star-studded cast led by Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, and John David Washington, debuted to a disappointing $6.4 million in North America over the Oct. 7-9 weekend.
The Hollywood Reporter estimates that Amsterdam will ultimately lose between $80 million and $100 million.
Amsterdam may only generate $18 million in domestic revenue and just under $40 million worldwide according to reports.
